Le hubs burthday was Monday 13th January, now I was battling with where to go that wont be boring and all being a Monday. Well this choice was the best. It was crowded for a Monday, there was music outside, the food was delicious. We had sangria, sea food pasta and salmon. It was a lot of fun. He also.met his favourite DJ and took a picture.

Best pizza in Lagos. I go on Wednesdays which is usually special offer day for all pizzas. If you want authentic Spanish or south American cuisine come here. Ambience is great and prices are decent.

I really like La Taverna - so this is a 1 for 2 review about La Taverna and the little small dessert shop within its premises. Are you a pizza fan and do you love Sangria - this is your go to place. An evening with friends on a budget, go on Wednesday, the Pizza goes for 2500 and the Sangria is 4000 per jar. Once the first jar of sangria get another and let all your secrets out and when you are done buy a slice of chocolate cake from the dessert shop XO Bakery. I definitely need to try another item on the La Taverna menu. FYI they have a wine shelf and I stare every time I go there - I want a bottle of red wine all to myself. Wait time isn’t long, which is great - and the hostess is nice.

The food was very nice but I docked one star cos of the location. The street seems to be under going construction and it’s definitely not advisable to walk here. La Taverna was neat and welcoming. The ambience was convivial and they made you feel at home as soon as you walked through the doors. It took a while before any waiter came to take our orders, almost like they forgot they had shown us to our table. The food was nice. Starters was some baguette-like bread and tomato+olive oil spread which I didn’t like very much. My friend did though. Tapas was samosa for me and a prawn+mushroom combo thingy for my friend. Those were GOOD. My main course was tiger prawns and mashed potatoes (it had some fancy name, Chilean cuisine) and it tasted soooo good! My friend had pork chops and mashed potatoes which were equally soooo good! The staff was a bit distracted. They forgot to take our orders on time. One totally ignored our request for more bread, and it took a while for us to be served that. Service wasn’t prompt and when they eventually made it to our table they seem a bit abrupt. It was an above average experience and I’d rate La Taverna a 6/10. The food was good though. Really really good!

Something told me at the end of a very long week, and after two hours of traffic to get home from works, I had to come to La Taverna. Best idea I had all week. The sauce that comes with the bread is strangely delicious. The bread is toasted for a minute in the pizza oven and it’s light and flakey. I had the Smokey lamb ravioli which was something from my dreams. Topped off with some fresh watermelon juice. Heaven in my mouth!!!
