Alexander OlafareTarkwa bay is on its own is an amazing place to unwind. Never overcrowded and the waters are calm, you can swim all day if you wish to. There is poor management though as you pay for tent, chair and table all separately (really ridiculous), you pay to change your clothes, pay to use the toilet (you could almost pay for just being alive).

Olubunmi AfuyeTarkwa bay beach is an amazing place to be, full of life and energy. I had loads of fun although my visit was on a Tuesday afternoon. Weekends bubbles here. There are nice views, raft rides, boat rides, swimming and a host of sporting activities involved. The DJ fills the atmosphere with amazing musicals from a wide variety of genres. This in turns mixes with the ambience on the waterside experience resulting in a blast. It is best to visit with friends and loved ones for a maximum excitement as I did. Since it is an island, it means a ferry ride to and fro would be required, so be prepared... Not to worry your safety and pleasure is guaranteed. The people in this environment are quite warm and will be willing to offer help to those wanting a mini tour around the island.

Folasade AdeboyejoOnce the cleanest beach in Lagos. This glory is fading away as piles of plastics are now collected on in a corner of the beach. Yet a good place for surfing in Lagos, enjoy coconut water drink and purchase Nigerian arts. Safe for kids too
-

O
Oladipupo AjibolaTarkwa bay going for this trip was unknown to me. Went there with my entire family, two sisters and my 2 year old nephew. It was a boat ride to the island from CMS, the only way to get to tarkwa bay is by boat. The overall experience was nice and not in any way dangerous, the freebies and canoes were all in good working conditions They had jetty and Bikes and volley ball although a little over priced for rent and you pay a sum or 500 naira to get access to the beach

W
Wura AdekoyaNot too busy, relatively clean. Could be cleaner, people still litter on the beaches and you find litter in the water as well. They should install more public bins. Fun activities to do in the water (a bit pricey), be sure to carry enough cash as there are no atms. You have to withdraw at an extra charge.
-
S
Sandra OsademeWas a very nice experience, extremely affordable. Boat ride from CMS to tarkwa bay is 500 and entry into the beach cost 200. Very clean. Extremely fun to visit

Oluwayomi AdebuleNothing warms my heart more than the efforts made to reclaim this wonderful piece of beach and history. The local community is also supportive in keeping this place lively. Great for surfers and learners. There are nice chalets on site for an overnight stay. Recommended for R&R and the sound of the waves as you knock off and sleep
-

-

Motolani AransiolaTarkwa bay beach is one of the most beautiful islands in Lagos, Nigeria. You can catch the sunset just sitting by the ocean or watch the sunrise from the top floor at the lighthouse. Tarkwa bay is more than just the beach, to really enjoy this beautiful island, plan to spend more than just few hours there, do a sleepover. You can get very affordable hotels within the community which gives you better opportunity to experience life as on the island, enjoy fresh seafood (crabs, crayfish, fish) Looking for a place to revamp away from the normal hustle and bustle of Lagos on a pocket friendly budget??? Tarkwa bay is perfect option.

Funmilayo DaoduTarkwa is a very nice beach especially the secluded areas. I enjoyed it more off peak periods like holidays. The waves are sparkling and blue during the day. Saw a jelly fish the last time i went. The boat ride was also exhilarating. The government should do something about the take off point at CMS though.

Naijahustler nimiThis beach is beautiful, the bolt ride to the beach was the most fun part on getting here, the site is so beautiful for picture taking, and the calmness of the beach suit so well, peaceful and very relaxing, i had so much fun on the ride to this beach and also on getting to the beach. Another thing i like at the beach is how you can just in under a tent and not get embarrassment from any tout unlike some some other beach. Guys i advice you all to go check it out everything about ths beach is beautiful. I had a memorable day at this beach.

Austin OforTakwa bay is a bay/beach that always comes to my mind whenever I think of the seaside. The boat cruise to the island is another experience: trans-versing through the Lagos coast and being exposed to the breathtaking view of big cargo ships either docking or passing slowly to dork at the nearly port. On getting to the beach proper, you would be greeted by the locals who reside at the island and are ready to help you with any of your luggage or a hand getting down from the boat. While in the beach, fun is never ending. You could play beach football, have a swim in the ocean, chill out in the beach hut with fresh coconut juice (staying at the hut cost a little though). Still part of the fun is surfing, quad-bike driving, volley ball etc. If you are feeling adventurous try walking to the lighthouse to immerse yourself with nature and enjoy the landscape view of the Eco Atlantic City. PS: It cost N200 as entry fee to gain access to this beach.

bassey edohoWell, this one is both similar and different. Similar as it is overrated, different as it is the most organized I’ve been to. So, you need a boat ride of about 25 minutes by ferry from the jetty situated under the bridge at law school. Getting there you notice how secured it is. There is a police station there. There’s also army presence. You pretty much can sit anywhere but the cost is criminal. For a shelter, we were offered 300k which they say was discounted. Much better to seat by the coastline, plus it’s cheaper. There’s only one food vendor authorized to be there and they have such a horrible customer service culture. They have chicken and chips on sale, fried planting and yam too. Fun there is volley ball and maybe football, that’s it; create your fun. Get you phones and cameras charged as you are going to get landscape shots from the boat ride all the way to the beach.

Ahmed YusufTarkwa Bay is sheltered beach located near the Lagos Harbour. It’s a popular with swimmers and water-sports enthusiasts, also home to a welcoming resident community. You’ll love this beautiful island that far removed from the hustle and bustle of Lagos. Tarkwa Bay Beach, unlike most public beaches in Lagos, isn’t often noisy or overcrowded. This makes it a great place for some alone time with your significant other or perhaps a fun day out with your friends. If you are looking for a quiet romantic time, you should visit Tarkwa Bay Beach on a weekday. Though Tarkwa Bay Beach is a small and lesser visited beach, many fun seekers visit it during the weekends, public holidays and festive season.

kingsley anyasoBeginning from the boat fare that starts from N500 (from CMS boat jetty) to the beach entry fee of N200, Tarkwa Bay Beach located in Tomaro Island offers one of the top relaxation spots at an affordable expense. The tents, chairs and seats renting fees start from as low as N1500, while there are beach houses and yatch club for those intending to stay a few days at the beach with special treatment

The waves are calm and inviting to dip in. Chalets and guest houses are available for overnight stays. Tents of various sizes can be rented on the beach for shade and seating.

Dotun DeeTeeIf you are looking for a quiet romantic time, you should visit Tarkwa Bay Beach on a weekday. Though Tarkwa Bay Beach is a small and lesser visited beach, many fun seekers visit it during the weekends, public holidays and festive season. Another thing you should consider is the time of the year. It’s best t avoid visiting the bay during the rainy season (April to September). Remember you can only get to and from Tarkwa Bay by water and rain has the ability to make the ocean tempestuous. You wouldn’t want to put yourself in harm’s way. Besides, rain and beach relaxation isn’t actually a good combination. While planning your visit to Tarkwa Bay Beach, you should know that the last speedboat taking passengers back to Marina (CMS) leaves the bay at 6:00 pm. Unless you have plans to stay over on the island, you should set out for the beach early enough to give yourself time to enjoy the fun that the beach has to offer.

P
Pwana Dooshima DukuTarkwa Bay was a pleasant surprise to me being my first visit last Saturday. Commencing the trip from CMS was very interesting, such great enterprise move to/fro CMS. The fiber boats seemed scary but the drivers are very experienced and would slow movements to allow tides that could capsize boat or rock it violently. Arriving the bay, the beach itself was clean and well cared for. Everything is commercialized. Comfortable chairs and big tents to accommodate big crowds. Lots of swimmers and fun seekers, modern boats, jet ski, beach trucks and security presence. The sight is lovely and serene except for shouting/screaming fun lovers in the ocean. The assembly of big ships waiting to duck and of load containers can be seen from afar. Just awesome watching everything from the bay. Looking across were some of the spectacular skyscrapers that adorn the new EKO Atlantic City. On the whole, this is definitely a revisit location and with the family. Beautiful and beautiful...
