The 1st National Museum in Nigeria. Esie Museum houses the LARGEST number of Soapstone images in Africa. Worth visiting.

Was an interesting visit. Staff were knowledgeable and courteous. However the place needs renovation and good maintenance. But found it an educating visit. No photos were allowed in the place

Over 1000 Soapstone carvings of mysterious origin, found in 18th century Esie, Kwara state. This is evidence of the amazing history, civilization and folklore of ancient Nigeria. Everyone has to experience it. Infrastructure and access road to the museum are in dire need of repair though.
