Ilorin township stadium is located in the heart of the state capital along taiwo road ilorin. Ilorin township stadium is the most equiped stadium in Nigeria which covers a large expanse of land which gives room for accomodating every sport you can think of with a standard sporting arena for every game. The stadium houses various sporting facilities such as the standard swimming pool that has been used to host international swimming competition Opposite the swimming is the basketball court which has 2 standard basketball court adjourned with 2 volleyball court very close the basketball court The mainbowl of 35,000 sitting capacity for football and track and field events. Ilorin township stadium is also blessed with numerous football pitches surrounding the stadium numbering up 10 pitches to enjoy the soccer game The indoor sport hall which comprises of various sporting activities except football. Also there is kwara football acadamy (KFA) which provides quality football training and standard education for would be footballers that will be training and schooling at the same time and thirdly their is a standard hostels for students. 4 football pitches and class rooms for the student to enjoy Badminton pitch,lawn tennis pitch,handball pitch, Lastly their is baseball pitch very close to the kwara football academy which is of high standard.

The stadium built in the late seventies has the concentration of most major and common sports popular in Nigeria hence its being named kwara state stadium complex The stadium is located along popular Ibrahim Taiwo Road close to Ilorin General Hospital, it has hosted many land mark sports and other events, among them National sports festival known as kwara 85 where the likes of Falilat Ogunkoya, Marry Onyàli and Olapade Adenekan all who later went on to represents Nigeria at international sporting event like Olympics were discovered.
