I actually attended a conference there. The environment is serene, a lot of ash flowers, the black tar and very green vegetation surrounding it. Trust me, it a beautiful place to be.

The receptionist and porters were professional and attended to special requests on time and without hesitation. The toilets, sink and bath cubicle were clean, but the "white" towels were old and slightly brownish. I particularly liked the wood work in the bath cubicle and the cupboard the sink was attached to. Unfortunately, the ongoing renovation made parts of the hotel look like a 1 star hotel. Also, the rugs and some furniture are out of style. The bed spread were obviously laundered, but had faint old stains.

I think there are two of them. My review is for "grand ibro annex" Affordable, good parking space, good location, good ambience, good price for the infrastructure, okay but terrible poor customer service from the front office staff. Manager also could do better with problem solving and customer experience management. Overall experience as a first timer was not satisfactory and not sure I will go back or encourage my friends except if customer service is improved on. One of the staff named Cashmer however stood out for good customer service despite the odds. Stayed 5 nights and could have stayed much longer but for poor customer service, it appears the manager and the front office staff are not bothered though, I guess they have too many customers. Throughout my few hours daily stay (as I usually got back tired from work/my day hoping to catch some few hours rest); (1) I missed my 10pm Channels TV news as they never got to fix making it clear despite several complaints, (2)the bathroom window had no net, was always opened by house keepers after cleaning the room, allowing room for insects etc. The was also an ugly dirty bird nest from the window. (3) Breakfast was complementary but monotonous and boring. (4) that front office lady really needs to be groomed and sent on customers service skills training. Hmmm, I wish the manager could join too and cherish customer lifetime value/ customer experience management. They both can learn from their colleague Cashmer. (5) They need to fix the door of the room I stayed so as not to repeat keeping a tired customer waiting for about an hour at night trying to fix the door. (6) Etc etc etc.

I urge this mgt to keep up training and retraining of her staffs to continuously be updated with the contemporary world we are in.

My stay was very remarkable and I enjoyed every moment at the hotel. The room service was on point, though some facilities need to be replaced in the bathrooms, the staffs were very courteous and friendly and the Reception services rendered was professional too. Restaurant neat and healthy and the maintenance of the environment is really commendable. Wi-Fi service was very bad. Breakfast options need to be improved, it was below standard. They also do not have a lift so get ready to climb some stairs. However, on a general note it was a good experience. It is a good place to stay on reasonable budget; not to expect more beyond the basic level. Will definitely use the hotel again.

The Grand Ibro has sadly lost its prestige. In a time of insecurity the hotel is so exposed and the security men are so relaxed and only care about giving tags to drivers and back to their business. The rooms are okay but like I said, security is bad and lodgers are exposed. Anyone can just walk to any room without question. They need to put a security guard and a concierge in those blocks close to the gate.

So I booked the "single room" online only to get here and realize that it had a single bed for one! I came with my wife and year old baby and the bed was just ridiculously small. The picture they had online was totally different from what they had. Flagrant false advertising. Total waste of money and time. Though the toilet/bath was decent, the room was downright dilapidated: broken table, broken bed and an AC that looked like it was straight out of a 1960 movie!
