A place where graduates from all over the country, irrespective of their schools or course of study is trained, before being posted to various parts of the state to serve the nation for a period of one year. The orientation camp is fun filled with lots of social activities as well as military drills and parades.

The Sokoto Orientation camp can be easily located. When you’re in the park in Sokoto city, get a bike man and tell him to take you to Wamakko. A bike man will charge you between 150 Naira to 250 naira, the camp is located at the left side of the road. You can either locate it yourself or ask the bikeman specifically for Orientation camp.

Its a place where graduates from Universities all over Nigeria and beyond, as long as you are a Nigerian get oriented. Its fun, and sometimes exasperating to be here. The weather here is more of longer day, shorter night, the environment is calm, it can be cold at times but its usually Sunny.

Served as a corper at the NYSC Orientation camp, wammakko, Sokoto State. The camp is located in wammakko local government area, sokoto state(Seat of the Caliphate). Facilities here are above average. There is relative steady power supply, a standby Generator incase of power surge, clean hostels and toilets and wonderful officials. Can be rated without doubt one of the best NYSC camp in Nigeria.
