The hotel is big. Maintenance is poor. Just that price abit lower. Staff behaviour is dubious sometimes. Its managed by state government. Not far from the main town and ministries.

Very good and nice hotel in the capital city of Sokoto - The Seat of The Caliphate. Had a very nice time when I was here. Their rooms are very much clean and fully air-conditioned, with very clean toilets. The power supply is almost non-stop with the help of standby generator if there is power outage from the national grid. Their staffs are also helpful and the room service are also doing their job. And above all, their price is very competitive as it is not expensive for such a hotel...

Been there for a couple of nights, the facilities are good and clean. Good beds, nice pillows and nice toilets. But the hotel is under renovation work as at time of writing, so there’s a lot of power outages and walking up and down the staircase. Staff are really nice and courteous.

Thirty years later, the hotel that the late Governor Kangiwa built is still standing! The hotel is neat and clean - to some extent. I wrote "to some extent" because looking at the big picture, everything about the hotel is exquisite but when you look closer, especially the toilets in the rooms, you may see things that may irk you. Example, some toilet seats were really dirty. I received only one towel. I had to complain before the flat screen TV was replaced. You may think that we chose the bad rooms. But we stayed in a two-bedroom suite on 4th floor - the last floor. So we stayed in the best rooms. Yet if you go into the lobby and step outside, the hotel is one of the most beautiful in Nigeria. To be fair to the management though, I was told they were having a problems with the state government (the owner) at the time of our visit.
