Bonny Island is a small town in Rivers State. The environment is Serene with good views, nature park, amusement areas, and beaches. Here in the Island, it is easy to get fresh fishes, sea foods, local dishes, and all sorts of entertainment. The oil industries and higher institution of learning is making the place an attractive destination for young people.

It is accessible by boat from local jetties in Port Harcourt and Onne, the nearest maritime ports Fare for jetties from Port Harcourt (Nembe and Abonnema Wharves) are at about NGN 2000 ($5.50 @ NGN367/$1) Trip is by outboard motor boats. Alternative boat services are only private shuttles operated by private companies which operate on the island for which security clearance is always required

Just about 30 minutes ferry over the Bonny River is Bonny Island. Surrounded on the west and south by long stretches of beaches. The beautiful beaches attract tourists and fun seeking inhabitants alike on sunny days and festive periods like Christmas and Easter. On 26 and 31 December of every year, thousands of people visit the beaches for beach carnivals. There are very few better ways to end your visit to Port Harcourt.
