Good place for sightings, N500 per person as gate fee. You can get all you need as chops just by the entrance. Also there is drinks too. Entering inside you will see animals , for me I believe they have more species of snakes than other animals. The lion, I saw just two lions and they are locked up inside their cage, so, no much view except through small openings. The zoo is dull ... But grate for kids!

We got to see a lot of animals during my last visit to the zoo about a year ago.

This is a nice place for mostly children. It gives them opportunity to explore wildlife practically. Entrance fee is relatively cheap, it is #500 per head. As at the time of visit, I saw wild animals like lion and lioness (four of them), giraffe, snakes of different spices, cobra, python, alligator, crocodile and many other ugly crawling animals. I saw monkeys of different kind, bamboo, gorilla and many other spices that I cannot really recognise. I saw birds of different kinds, ostrich, parrot, chicken and others. I looked forward to seeing elephant but unfortunately, there was no elephant at the time of visit. There was no zebra too, though there was a space for it. Above all, I enjoy my visit and really looking forward for a revisit.

With time the animal collection grew in number and diversity and the Menagerie gradually became a full fledged Zoo in 1974. It welcomes a large number of visitors from far and near every year. The University of Ibadan Zoo, like most modern zoos, displays wild animals primarily for the conservation of endangered species, as well as for research purposes and education, and so also for the entertainment of visitors. The garden is home to a wide array of animals comprising mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Green monkeys The Zoo is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 8:00 to 18:30 daily. For the hungry The shops at the zoo premises have a wide variety of delicious take-aways and kiosks offer snacks. There are numerous picnic spots located within the Zoo where you can relax in the shade of giant trees. Parking Ample, secure parking space is available at the main entrance of the U.I Zoological Gardens. Security staff is on duty at all parking facilities for your peace of mind. Security Security personnel are on duty 24 hours a day for your convenience. Come prepared for a day filled with fun, fun, FUN!!

Visited the Zoo previously in 2012, and again yesterday. I must there has been lots of improvements. The entrance has been redesigned, there are more animals and the garden looks very green and beautiful. There was a really experienced and friendly guide that led us through the various enclosures. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

One of the attractions to visit while you are in Ibadan, Oyo State is the zoo within the expansive premises of the University of Ibadan. The zoological garden is home to a variety of animals and tree families. The managers have also tried to create close to natural habitats for the animals from snakes to aligators, lions, monkeys and some species that are only seen on National Geographic channel. They can do with more deliberate public and private sector funding/support.
