Great architectural designed structure from outside and within the Hall. Historical work of art. Magnificent in look and strategically positioned on a hill in between the popular Ója Óba market and the Béré community facing the Itamerin area of Ibadan. You could almost view the whole Ibadan and admire the brown roof top city. Important and great events holds inside and outside this gigantic structure. This hall is special not just to Ibadan people but to the old Western Premiere Region as it serves them when important meetings and decisions are to me reached.

MapoHall is the colonial style Ibadan City Hall, perched on top of Mapo Hill, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Mapo Hill, the site of the hall, is the oldest part of Ibadan city and is a high density area occupied mainly by the indigenes of the town.

The supposed caretakers of the hall were asking for too much money to let us see the building. We eventually gave a stipend and still were hurried out of the premises. I was barely allowed to take pictures.

Mapo Hall was commissioned in 1929 as the central of the city of Ibadan. Surprisingly, as much as the city keep expanding in land mass, Mapo Hall maintains being in the heart of the great city of Ibadan!!!

You would be able to have a view of some parts of Ibadan from here. You would need to pay the security in charge for him to take you round

Historically, an architectural edifice to behold, on a hill top to view the rustic zinc of rooftops of those old and still strong buildings that surround the interior of Ibadan.

The ancient Mapo hall. Has been abandoned over the years though. Thanks to the last dispensation that renovated the building. It houses some very ancient history and heritage

This place, Mapo Hall, was built during the colonial era. It was used at that time for the Ibadan council meeting. There, tax evaders were being judged. Mapo Hall at the present age is used for parties, ceremonies, meetings, has a large space.
