If you have ever heard of a prayer mountain or had the need to go on a prayer retreat...this is a place to be an am reporting this from a first-hand experience. Located at the entrance of the ancient town of ifewara, about 10mins drive from ile-ife, the prayer mountain has all it takes to attract the attention given to it. From the main gate you begin to experience the serenity and calmness a prayer village must have. There are various levels of accommodation according to your budget, from dormitory bed spaces to one bedroom flats to two bedroom charlets. Regardless of the type of accommodation you book, you have free access to a prayer hut, and there are many of them situated right on the mountain top. The village also has a restaurant, bookshop and conference halls and a standby power generating set to provide lighting all night. It is certainly an ideal get-away prayer destination for anyone that wants to escape the distractions and have a time-alone with God.
