Amazing place to visit. We were only able to get to the 3rd level. the higher to go the colder the water becomes. There is a myth that no one ever fell while climbing the Erin Ijesha waterfall. The water flows from over 100 feet down to the 1st level.. Quite an amazing experience. It is highly recommended you go with your own food and drinks, though you might be able to buy local snacks around there. I drank the best palm wine there.

Also known as the Olumirin Waterfalls, this is a tourist attraction located in Erin Ijesha, Osun state. It is said that Erin-Ijesha waterfall was first discovered in 1140 AD and was called Olumirin, which means another deity, because it seemed it had the appearance of a mysterious figure. The fall features seven floors, on top of which the village Abake is located. The waterfall is said to have medicinal properties and people came from all over to drink from the waterfall and be healed.

Just simply wow! after 4 hours and covering 10.3 km in 35.6 degrees heat at 674 m, we made it up to the seventh level and back down with a 30 -45 minute break at the level 3 waterfall where you can chill. Its totally worth your while by visiting the Olumirin waterfall in Erin Ijesha you literally end up visiting two of the south west states in Nigeria. Osun and Ekiti. The lower levels are in Osun state whilst the seventh level located in the Abake village is in Ekiti. We had an amazing tour guide take us up. There is main path that leds to the seventh level. To see 4, 5 and 6 you have to get off that pathway. So what should you bring some good vibes, water, a sunhat, bathing suit or whatever swim attire you prefer, sunscreen and please use the trash can if you do bring food. This place is totally worth several visits

Great place for rock climbing, the waterfall is refreshing, and it has picturesque view of the valley below. It really is a place to be. The management should implement actions to make it a formidable tourist attraction. Things like signs and directions at the various levels. Would be good. And also side rails or even a rope bridge between levels.

Beautiful scenery, calming sound of water and cooling streams define this location. I can sit here for hours and reflect/meditate deeply. Natures jacuzzi, the watering hole of the "gods" are the epithets that come to my mind. It will be good to visit this location when there are no crowds to get the best connection to nature in its purest state.

A mine of culture and heritage is what this place is. The waterfall is simply just breathtaking. The meandering climb to the top of the waterfall can be a challenge for first timers but you don’t even have to reach the summit to enjoy the view. There are some old men with drums that will treat you to the sweet rhythms of Yoruba music. If you can dance, then be sure to enjoy yourself with them. Ticketing cost 500 per person and you might have to pay extra for parking your vehicle.

In a small and friendly village the waterfalls inhabit. Beauty to watch as nature shows off. Some local drums play via good masters to compliment the indigenous atmosphere. Almost eight levels to climb in other to get to the top, my luck persisted till the 3 level and i called it a day. Very good experience. However, it is important to note that safety measures are not seen at these location, being very careful should be top priority.

Awesome tourist destination but more could be done to improve its quality. Try not to climb the hills to the other floors unless your mind is up for it. Not much to see along the floors till the 7th and last floor. It can be very energy consuming. The waterfall is refreshing and very clean. Get in and catch some fun.

A beautiful natural tourist attraction. It is amazing. The last time I visited, there was a park being constructed around the rock to allow people relax when they visit. The manmade ornaments around it like the stairs are not in a perfect shape. The highlight is bathing especially on the second level of the waterfall. There are seven levels in all.
  • G
    Gazelle Brouk
Such a Magnificent Place to visit. Nobody knows the source of the waterfalls. Resulting in a waterfall which has seven levels. Number seven is the highest. Any visitor will move from level one (1) which is the lowest and as you go along climbing to level 2, 3,4, 5, 6 and 7, the waterfall keeps falling on your head (so refreshing) and some children play and swim inside the pool at each level. It must be emphasized that care and caution are very important in climbing different levels. Not many people can climb up to level 7, with most people settling down for level 2 to 4 of the waterfall. Improvement has been made to the road leading to waterfalls. Chalets have been made recently to accommodate tourist visiting the waterfall. Many people including students and lecturers of lower and higher institutions; and tourist from within and outside the country visit the waterfalls to see the magnificent work of God. The late Oba of the town, His Royal Highness Oba S. A Adeosun the Akinla the Second of Erin Ijesha with the assistant if the state and the federal government of Nigeria treated and pipe-borne the water into all the houses in the town of Erin Ijesha. It serves as drinking water to the people of Erin Ijesha town of Oriade local government of Osun state

Erin Ijesha Waterfall is one of the best tourist attractions in nigeria. The waterfall experience is blissful and it has a soothing, serene and beautiful view. The view of the vast vegetation located behind and over the falls is beautiful and green. The waterfall has a 7 stair level view of which the fall becomes greater as you go higher. It is a tourist location to visit!

A very nice attraction, but the place needs alot of work, getting around the fall can be made alot better! They take alot money for entry to eventually have to slip down some rock just to get to the hill....can be dangerous to visit with kids

Be ready to get lost in the beauty of nature. 6 levels of waterfall they say. Personally, I saw just 3, even though I kept climbing to a height I thought should lead to the 5th level fall at least. I heard of the 4th level fall with much lower pressure than the 3rd. There is a stairway that leads you to the 2nd level fall. Afterwards u have to keep grabbing at roots (as thick as a stem) and rock pieces to climb higher. Overall, it was an exhilarating experience, totally worth the time.

Had a waohhhhh experience during my vacation over there. Simply amazing feature. Climbing the hills makes it adventurous and funky. Never had a dull moment. Climbed to the fourth layer, maximum fun is at layer two. Atmosphere is a beauty to behold, if I can stay in that environment for 3months, I will win Olympics and beat all Ethiopians and Kenyans to long distance race. Will come visiting again

Erin ijesa waterfall really make senses, seriously. The waterfall got 7steps(mountain)one after the other, but the person that will reach the 7th mountain will have to get extra-horsepower

Beautiful waterfall. Simply amazing. The entrance and immediate welcome area is a sham and is under construction. It boasts of 7 levels and requires a very high fitness level to reach the 7th level which is where the source of the waterfall is. I would definitely visit again sometime

Erin Ijesha is a place to be to see the beauty of God at the waterfall. Climbing the mountain to the village above the waterfall was a WOW experience for me. So many people give up from just the second level. If I can go all the way to the top of the mountain to see the stream flow that brings about the waterfall, everyone can also make it up there. Just give it a try.

This is an interesting tourist attraction. Buy lacks maintenance. I just wonder how Nigerian Governments are so wasteful. The potential of this place has not been fully explored. Commerce has not been drawn there and you wonder why? The place is unkept and dirty. No safety measures and if you go there during the raining seasons when everywhere is slippery, you will have to be very careful not to fall off. The water falls are in about seven different layers buy no provisions made for safe climb up the hills to the various layers. The steps are so steep ams slippery. Intact you will have to maneuver your way through the hills and trees to be able to access the second layer. That is the beat you can go. Its more scary than fun. But ultimately, if you find your way to the base of the water you sure will have some fun. You will enjoy the water fall and the rocks, the trees and vegetation. Its a cool place for group outings videos and movie shoots. Some local entertainments are provided by some local drummers...and they got me dancing. I laughed and danced. The government will need to do note to make the place more attractive and safe for tourists.

This place would have been a fantastic tourist area if it could be developed. The waterfall is great and I also love it at Level 2. It has 7 levels, however, it is not safe to climb beyond level 2 due to unavailability of stairs. The stairs from level 1 to 2 is also steep and handrails are barely available. My wife was gone for about 3/4 hours because she went all 7 stages which led her team to another village. It would have been a great experience if it could be developed and focused on like Ikogosi Warm Springs. Facilities are not available here and seems to be managed by local or state government boys.

Erin ijesha waterfall is located in Erin ijesha of Osun state, the water fall is a tourist attractions for both local and international visitors. The water fall have seven falls. It is cover in green canopies of trees and shrubs. Erin ijesha water fall could be a better tourist point if the government could pay more concern to it development.
