I don’t know about The Custodian but my first experience at The City Dweller was a disaster. Even at the discounted rate of N15000 per night I expected a much higher standard than what I experienced. The room facilities was so poor, the TV was been held up by the folder inside the room, you remove it and the TV comes tumbling down, The bedsheets were so hairy, the white towel in the bathroom had turned brown. The table lamp broken and without bulb. Requested for hot water and it took them ages to bring the hot water. The only consolation was the housekeeper that came the next day and was able to give us sheets that were better than the previous day though there were stains on the sheet. Probability of going back there is zero with my experience.

Golden tulip is one of the hotels of repute in Benin, spacious well positioned in the heart of Etete GRA , it houses beautiful and spacious halls and the suites are really beautiful, well furnished, ventilated and comfortable, it was the venue for Immaculate Conception College class of 1994 reunion dinner in 2019. I came here particularly for the food. I sat inside the restaurant which at the time I was there, it was a quiet, calm lounge scene. I order the margherita pizza which is satisfying for the hungry stomach, but not appealing to the eyes. The cheese was crispy and dough was too thick. However, the Nigerian food I had was made just right without out much salt or oil. The customer service was also good. The staff was trained and friendly.

Had a great experience here over a two day stay for a conference. Room was clean, spotty WiFi a times but was available everywhere. However, the food was very very good. From the finger foods for tea break to the various meals, it was a great experience. Gym is dusty and a few equipment needs repair but no instructor. They however need to completely throw away their towels.

Stay here if you want cockroach infested rooms, broken toilet seats, showers and horrible customer service. “Buffet breakfast” is stingy they wouldn’t let me take a second water bottle with my breakfast. And tried to actually charge me 3000 N when I went back for seconds. We held a conference and I had to arrange the chairs by myself and clean the room as they didn’t provide any support. The wifi doesn’t reach any of the rooms. Oh and I was harassed by a guest stay g at the hotel. I asked the front desk not to let him up to my floor. They didn’t nothing he followed me to my room and tried to enter. He then proceeded to stalk me and followed me at breakfast, the staff again did nothing. I wasn’t even allowed to take my breakfast out of the restaurant even though I explained that the same person who had harassed me the previous night followed me here and will not leave me alone. Will never stay here again.

Worst hotel ever! The lady at the front desk was not friendly and the room was mosquito infested. When I asked for my room to be made, I was told that the room service person has closed! Can u imagine? Room service is supposed to be 24 hours. This happened 27-28 October 2017. There is absolutely nothing golden about this tulip.
