Terrible, terrible experience. First and last. I had sent several items to their warehouse including two small emergency ones which were scheduled for air cargo. The total cost came up to approx $2000 which I paid at the prevailing bank rate. (Interestingly the cost of the air cargo was no less than if I had sent them by DHL or similar.) They insisted that I owed about N8,500 saying that their forex exchange rate was unique and independent of the market. Unbelievable. I asked that the small items be sent in the meantime because of the urgency and they flat out refused. I proceeded to go to the bank to pay the N8,500. The air cargo items arrived many weeks later, long after I needed them. After the ordeal I was sent a refund of N8,500 with much fanfare about how valuable my business is. I cannot adequately express my disgust without the risk of this post being reported.

The costing mechanism they use is hidden in tiny print in the middle of a cluster of trivial information on their already clunky webpages. This is no accident. After my items had arrived in their US warehouse i got an astronomical bill accompanied by the formula they used. Using references it was clear that the prices were exaggerated and I promptly offered to pick up the items. Not surprisingly they refused saying that it had been in their warehouse for X days and that I was already indebted. Bottom line is once they have your cargo they use it as leverage to literally extort. Buyer beware.

I regret the day I found Shoptomydoor online. They do not have their own delivery apparatus. All they have are warehouses and an effective online marketing campaign. They exclusively use third party services to which they add a significant premium. I notice that most of the reviews are from "local guides". That should be a red flag.

My first and only experience so far with Shoptomydoor was great. They handled a 55" TV from the UK to my door in just few days, even before the estimated date of arrival. Communication was also great as they were also reachable via WhatsApp. My only disappointment was that the service of sending pictures of items in warehouse is currently only available from the US warehouse and not the UK. You can use them for the delivery of electronics and other items.

My last experience with Shoptomydoor was terrible. An air freight delivery from US to Nigeria that was supposed to take a week and a few days took a whole month and a week. I was very disappointed. Although Shoptomydoor attributed the delay to the backlog of orders at the festive period; however, I think that they could have done better being that "festive period" is a time that comes up at the close of every year; and Shoptomydoor has operated their business through many years and festive periods and as such should have learnt from experience.

I ordered items on Amazon since November 2018 and paid for sea cargo, till now July 13th the item is yet to be delivered. This is appalling. I have done what I was told to do.
