Abdul ShehuLocated outskirts of town, making it expensive and hard to get to. This is bad because train stations should run right through the heart of the city. Staff are for the most part polite and courteous. Ticketing staff are corrupt and hoard tickets for the highest bidders during rush hours of weekends. Departures are on schedule with no delays. Train coaches are neat. However, I observed that there are no dustbins attached to seat rows. VIP/First Class is worth the additional money, mostly because of the sitting arrangement with a table at the middle. Trains not as fast as one expects but not bad either. Toilets are clean.

Train tickets where being sold, even though the ticket office was closed!! Need to arrive a few hours before the train leaves to buy tickets. Complete and utter mayhem occurred when the ticket office finally opened, only God knows how no one was injured during the mass struggle. Best to stand back until the struggle calms down. No organisation, lack of structure, standing only tickets being sold. We are making progress, but very very slowly!!

With enough security personnel. You can travel with heavy luggage just that it would be weighed and you would be billed accordingly. Please do endeavor to try train travelling on your next trip. The overhead storage though is too high for people not too tall. Also, bags may slip from hold if it is not properly placed as nothing secures bags and may cause injuries to passengers. Overall it was a smooth ride.
