A very well organised place with lots of faculties that keeps it clean and orderly but the toilet in the mosques is small and not very clean plus things such as drinks etc are very expensive here so you might want to bring yours along.Generally there’s still a lot of work to be done and it’s quite a big place.

A second best airport in Nigeria. The airport is moderately big with terminals for both domestic and international flights. It is currently been renovated by Chinese construction company to make it standard to meet its counterparts in the world.

When most flights are delayed as in this evening the waiting area gets hot and humid. The air-conditioning all on but ineffective. But with little thinking one can gradually get cooled.. walk around and feel your way around you will know where to perch. If you rather look be in the right path. The standing AC airway

One of the international airports of Nigeria. The Abuja airport is undergoing some major renovation and reconstruction to make closer to an acceptable international standards. There have been significant changes in its outlook and services over the past 2 years. A lot is still desired outcome in ensuring automation of services. The ambience and sanitation has improved compared to 2-3years ago.

The new structures at the airport is giving it a different look entirely which is fine and I noticed the parking space has been expanded due the influx of more people by the day as a result of the Airport Train Station.

I liKe it for the good and spacious lots and packings area. The new waiting rooms and boarding area area so cool. I will love to see a team that will be in charge of sanitation and cleaning to be stationed 24hrs a day. One last thing I love the look but it is too less Nigerian. It will be better if the picture advertising states is a piece of art work. Nigerian art and craft designs should be placed all over the Airport the vibes it would create will be awesome.! #LetsDoMore

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is one of the best International airport in Nigeria especially when Nigerian standard is used as a yardstick. It has massive structures but many of these are not yet in use. With the completion of every ongoing contructions and good maintenance, it promises to be better. The airport handles a lot of domestic and International flights. The interior is cool. Many of the staff are hardworking and courteous.

The new Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is a travellers delight. Security, airport and administrative staff stationed at the airport are friendly and professional when carrying out their work. The serenity of the environment is encouraging and better than what it used to be in the past. Authorities can do more by making the parking lot look more better and organised.

Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, always bubbles with activities. It is one place that always reveals how ingenious Nigerians can be. There seems to be one business or the other that the users think they may engage in. Apart from the many travellers that are on the move, travelling for their businesses in and outside Abuja, there are those people looking for areas to cut in the businesses right inside the airport. That is why human movements around the car parks is so high. But law enforcement agents are on hand to do a good job of curtailing unwanted activities. The new expansion works around the airport, particularly in the international area, also make the airport very busy.
  • O

The building itself is well designed, well kept, and minimalist. However, security is slow and the staff are lazy (at least a few members of staff were asleep). Add 30 mins at least to the time you need to get through the airport

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is one of best Airports in Nigeria. It is located in the capital city of Abuja, Nigeria. In here, you can get flights to any part of Nigeria accessible by flights and you also get most of the international flights. It is the second busiest airport in Nigeria besides the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos. The Airport is accessible by bus, taxi and train depending on the part of the town one is coming from.

Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport is situated in the beautiful administrative city of Nigeria called Fedetal Capital Territory (FCT) or simply Abuja. The airport is modern with most facilities working and well managed. The employees are friendly and helpful. Trolleys are not free; you can pay for either assisted trolley service where an attendant is assigned to you or without assistance. The airport is usually clean. The best airport in Nigeria yet and highly recommended.

This airport facility is good and quite large enough to accommodate the high number of people coming in and out of the country, locally and internationally. Nevertheless the concierge here needs to be beefed up and properly trained; because my first experience here was not so nice as i had to go round trying to figure out my way around.

I have used Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport a couple of times but I was impressed with the latest development. The ongoing renovation has reached commendable extent and the departure lounge has been opened up. You use the escalator to go to departure and boom it is this nice large space. A few more things are required, if you are travelling through this airport, you may want to listen carefully for flight announcement because the PA system is not effective yet and a few commercials may beautify the place. Kudos to everyone working on this.

was built in the early 2000 and opened in 2002. It holds a pride of place, among airports in the country, as the international airport for the country’s federal capital, Abuja. The airport named after the late Dr. Nnandi Azikiwe, a foremost nationalist and one of the country’s founding fathers, often plays host to visiting dignitaries and high ranking government officials as well as Nigerians visiting the federal capital for business or leisure. The airport has two terminals—one, for international flights and the other for domestic flights. Plans by FAAN to build a second runway at this airport, in order to reduce the heavy air traffic on the airport’s single runway are at an advanced stage. A cargo section is also included in the design of the new state-of-the-art international terminal currently under construction at the airport.

It is quite shameful to see that the gate way into the capital of a country looks so out of touch with the modern world. The terminals are poorly maintained and the operations seems no where near a modern international airport. The domestic wing is quite disheartening. I hope the renovation works going on will be able to give it a facelift and the facilities will be upgraded to improve operational standards.
  • M
    McDaniel Hamilton
I visited this airport location as a result of a work project assignment. My landing and departure at this airport was uneventful to say the least. The airlines were just starting service to the airport again after a long time of not servicing the airport. At the time, I noted that the personnel watching the aircraft were doing a good job of making sure that the aircraft was ready for departure. The airport was suitable for both international and domestic departures. There were a number of American style facilities to eat food for the kids of course. The restrooms were okay. The airport was a bit crowded at the time of my departure and landing. The personnel were great processing my tickets and luggage.

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is the bustling gateway to Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria. The airport made its debut into the Nigerian aviation society in 2002 and has since become the second busiest airport in Nigeria. Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport was named after the country’s first president, Nnamdi Azikiwe. Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (IATA code: ABV) serves domestic and international flights and is a hub for both Arik Air and IRS Airlines. Flights to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport are provided by international airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Air France, and British Airways. ABV is a 40-minute drive from the central city of Abuja. A cargo section is also included in the design of the new state-of-the-art international terminal currently under construction at the airport. oad to the Abuja airport was recently expanded. The road was expanded from the previous four lanes to ten lanes. This has removed the occasional traffic jam previously experienced on the road making drive to and from the Abuja airport smooth and traffic free. However in the morning hours from about 6.30am to 10.00am there is more traffic on the lanes from Airport into the town; while later in the day from about 3.30pm to 6.30pm there is more traffic on the lanes from town to the airport. The reason is that a number of people who live in the settlements along the airport road work in the city center. There are organized and registered airport cabs that can take you from the airport to the city centre or any of the neighboring towns. The prize for cab to the city centre is between N3000 (three thousand Nigerian Naira, about 20 USD) to N5000 (Five thousand Nigerian Naira, about 30 USD) depending on where you are going. You can also get taxis if you stand near the airport exit at a cheaper price but this is not advisable especially if you are visiting the town for the first time. The Abuja International airport has spacious and comfortable departure lounges both at the international terminal and at the domestic terminals. There are also a couple of eateries within the airport. You will also find shops where you can buy books, newspapers and other minor items. There is a car park for private cars which is free but there is a toll of N100 to N500 (depending on your car type) at the gate when entering the airport. Overnight parking of cars at the car park is not allowed, this attracts a fine from the airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), says a total of 3.36 million passengers traveled through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja between January and September. FAAN disclosed this in its 2018 Passengers Traffic Statistics obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), The report showed that a total of 2.6 million people travelled locally (domestic) while 689,388 passengers were recorded on international wing during the period. It also showed that while 1.36 million passengers were recorded on domestic arrivals, 1.30 million departed through the airport within the period. According to FAAN, 340,171 international passengers arrived the airport, while 349,217 passengers traveled out of the country through NAIA during the period. Quarterly breakdown showed that 1.02 million passengers travelled during the first quarter; 1.1 million in second quarter and 1.23 million in third quarter.

Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport operates both the international and the local Flights. The airport is presently undergoing reconstruction. The services are not superb expected of an international airport and in the FCT for that matter. We hope the airport is given the much needed facelift so it can rank perfectly well among other airports internationally. It was recently certified a safe one but the amenities are nothing to write home about. The waiting lounge is another pathetic site.

Well, not too bad, but something ought to be added, in terms of facilities, because abuja airport gives a signal on what really is the strength of nigeria, socially and even economically being abuja the capital of nigeria, so you know foreign investors can make it a point of scale, and nigeria is far bigger than that arithmetic.
  • N
    Noah Mataruse
Barest minimum of facilities available. There is no duty free shopping and the lounges frequently do not have internet access.
  • C
    Christopher Maduka
The airport is a far cry from international standards but it still shows signs of improvement. The recent renovations have shown great improvements in the infrastructure and the construction of the new terminal by CCEC looks promising.
  • S
    Sierra Ferguson
I wonder which airport those writing positive reviews went to. This is a glorified motor park where unfortunate airplanes land. I am a frequent traveler; domestic and international, Nigerian airports remain the most stressful, embarrassing, disorganized and corrupt airports I have ever been to.
