Victoria island is one of the most happening places in the islands of Lagos. Restaurant, bar, 5 Star hotels, movie theater, food court, offices, supermarkets, lagoon view what else do we want from this place? Traffic can be a little bit tough during weekdays but weekends are quite smooth in terms of commuting. Love the place always.

Yes nice roads, nice buildings, wonderful town planning, but getting in and out is always hectic. I.e the transport system. Traffic is always on the high side, even with the functioning traffic lights and LASTMA officers. But there are options of using the water ways.

Businesses thrive here and its very expensive to stay here..besides there are lots of abandoned structures around especially when you get to that bar beach area... The road network is well planned but traffic is horrible, if you have an interview, I will advise you add an extra hour or two to your schedule

Workers in Victoria Island earn good payment than that of mainland. Most people on Victoria Island depend on generators due to issue with electricity. Food and items cost here in Victoria Island. Cost of living is very very difficult. I love the ocean in Victoria Island.

It is amazing how Victoria Island has transformed very quickly from a peaceful, calm and somewhat almost sleepy strictly residential neighbourhood to high octane district to include commercial, business and leisure in about two and half decades! Infrastructures in a manner of speaking have to be ramped up rapidly to catch up with these monumental developments. Victoria Island now houses HQs of virtually all banks and other financial institutions and the ideal location of choice for important corporate institutions including notable hospitality brands, Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), fine dining outfits, fashion districts, MICE events and leisure. It is interesting still further transformation that will occur when the Eko Atlantic City come in stream. The layout of the new city within a city will make Manhattan, Chicago and perhaps Dubai go green with envy. So much work to be done however to improve transport and commuting, road enhancement furniture, traffic management, and city level organisation and management in order to attain full world class status and high livability.
