Just in case you are wondering, the place is absolutely FREE!! Just take note,you are not allowed to take pictures of the artworks alone but you are allowed to take pictures with the artwork. It was a place worth visiting.

Real show of brilliance in the form art from the entrance to burglary to the pieces on display. You could walk in and around for free. You just have to heed to the really easy house rules. You could buy any piece of your choice. You should definitely visit this place if you love art. The parking space isn’t so big (not sure if they have more than 1) but it was just fine. Took all cars available as of the time I was there. I guess it wasn’t “peak” hour for visitors.

Great ambience with palm wine offerings at the entrance. The yard displays sculptures you’d have to closely examine to understand the level of detailing each of them possess. There are 3 floors above the ground floor each with remarkable art you need to look closely at to understand the sort of work it takes to create them and the commitment it entails to finish such pieces. It features works of different artists and most of the older works are in the top floors. The pieces are in different sizes. It’s definitely a lovely alternative to other popular activities. Sure is a good place for a date as it helps you discover how the other person perceives things. Parking isn’t the biggest so you might consider making space for others when you are done or taking a taxi there. Pictures are allowed as long as you are in it as well.

You are warmly embraced by the vividness of Nigerian art when you walk into this beautiful Art Centre set in over 4 floors packed full of Art - paintings, sculptures and other art installations in all their glory. Only criticism is they didn’t seem to have enough staff or easily identifiable staff so it was difficult to make inquiries on pieces of interest. Also be sure to go with a platinum debit/credit card or a bag of money. Prices aren’t for the faint hearted but negotiable. You have to really truly appreciate the craftsmanship and creativity that goes into the art pieces to understand the pricing of the beautiful pieces displayed at the gallery. However if you can’t yet afford the more pricey art pieces, you can opt for wearable art by purchasing the adire cloth pieces (t-shirts, kaftans, scarves and fabric) and African jewelry pieces. It is also a fantastic place to take pictures using the art as a backdrop. However, it says picture taking isn’t allowed but this is apparently not monitored as I saw a few people taking pictures in the gallery. Also if you have children below 10 with you, you need to sign an indemnity form because kids below 10 aren’t allowed in the gallery.

Just 15 minutes drive from Lekki/VI toll gate ( depends on traffic), this place is a must visit if you really love paintings. You will find a large collection of authentic paintings of the celebrity Nigerian painters. The owner was available during our visit on a Saturday and she was amazing. Interesting part is that the restaurant/snack bar outside did not charge us for the minerals that we bought. We were told that it is a courtesy from the management. If you can afford, want to buy authentic Nigerian paintings, can try out Nike ( they will provide you the certification of authentication).

The place attracts no fee to enter and you when pictures someone needs to be in the background so it doesn’t encourage plagiarism, you can’t take pictures of someone’s work. It’s a good tourist attraction and most of the arts are up for sale if you find something you just can’t take your eyes off.

I’m surprised so many Nigerians don’t even know this kind of beauty exist! This place is mostly visited and appreciate by international tourists. And to think it is FREE entry and exit!!!!! Just few minutes drive away from Lekki Conservation Centre, we decided to visit Nike Art Gallery as a complementary before the adventure at Lekki Conservation Centr. Amazingly, the visit to the gallery was the best experience for the day. It also helped us to enjoy the adventure and experience at the Conservation centre more because we were already open minded and happy after the gallery experience This place speak beauty. We spent few hours here soaking creativity and appreciating art. We couldn’t get enough! The pictures attached to this review does not explain enough. You need to be there. You had be amazed at what these art works are made from! Especially the sculptures! The paintings are out of this world. I practically travelled with the artist. You could like at a painting for 1 hour, mesmerized by it’s beauty while trying to penetrate into the artist’s mind. I’m no arts lover but my encounter in this gallery changed my perspective about arts! I saw the beauty and culture of Lagos as a state and Nigeria as a whole! I met with the founder (Nike herself) and she also introduced one of the artists to us. We were genuinely happy! You can’t be in such environment and remain bitter or sad. No way! We met Papa too (grandpa that sat downstairs) He said he is the founder’s husband, though I couldn’t confirm that from mama but I see no reason to think otherwise. Papa was very nice and he made us laugh with his jokes and kind words. On our way out, papa advised we come with some kolanuts next time so I can break and pray for us with them. I would definitely do that on next visit!!! In all, it was an amazing experience. I would definitely do it again. I don’t mind joining you on your next visit. We were fortunate to meet with the lady that runs the gallery and she is a free spirited individual who openly invited us to come back for a meal. Nike Art Gallery is unique and should have something for everyone. There is a ton of art pieces at the gallery and due to the time I spent in there, I found it so hard making a choice on a art piece. I will recommend a visit to the gallery and will be visiting again myself.

He knows Nike and we got to meet her and she had one of the gallery staff give us a private tour. It was an amazing experience and the visit was so informative. There are 4 levels of art from all different types of artists, including pieces by Nike, herself. Would recommend a visit here for anyone who is interested in international art.

Africa if measured in terms of its area span , Whilst taking pictures, I covered an estimated 2 kilometer distance within the complex, suffice me to add that there are loads of exhibits kept in storage due to lack of display space. You would find in this gallery, works of artists from a wide range of backgrounds, ethnicities, demographics and artistic mastery. If like me, you are lucky to meet Chief Mrs Nike Davies-Okundaye, the Chief Curator and a renowned artist herself, you will be humbled by her simplicity, hospitality and outright humility. This is the one place in Lagos i can spend a full day and not get bored, Time seems to stop until you get warning signs from your belly

Easily one of the best tourists attraction this country has to offer. For a long time, there had been that yearning to visit Nike Art Gallery but there had always being one excuse or the other. Several trips have been made to the Lekki area but none ever tool me the way of the gallery until I had to organise a Local Guides crawl and the last stop was the gallery, it needed up being an experience, for those who attended, not to be forgotten any time soon. As we got to the entrance, we were welcomed by a dancing troupe and we danced to the rhythm of the drums and the singing, it was so much fun. Let alone did we know we were in for what was to come as we walked through the doors. On entering the main gallery, you get this sense of being in a completely different world greeted with art covering every wall of the gallery, spread across four floors. I stood at the main reception area for a few minutes in awe, not moving but taking in the world that had just opened before my eyes. The rest of the visit I am not sure words would do any justice, but I would always encourage anyone who has any interest in the arts to visit Nike Art Gallery. Kudos to Chief (Mrs.) Nike Okundaye, who has done very well, not just for herself, but for people from all over the world, who have an appreciation for the arts.
