Formerly known as the health management board, this health service commission manages the workforce and policy at all public secondary and tertiary healthcare service facilities in Lagos State except for LASUTH in Ikeja. For primary healthcare, there is the LSPHCB in Yaba. Majorly, operations here are essentially related to human resources management: recruitment, deployment, in-training, promotion, discipline, retirement, etc. Day to day adminstration of each hospital is undertaken by appointed management team for each hospital. So, this location is just an office building for administrative staff, no health service is provided here. However, Lagos Island Maternity and the General Hospital, Lagos are sited beside this building, and across the street, respectively.
