This a community center... It is majorly an open space... Though no grass has been successfully planted. It is a good place for jogging in football for the community youths. This place is also use as an event venue for anyone that has event at affordable prices. As well as serve as Muslim praying ground during Salah and other Islamic festivals.

Its a good initiative to pre-plan our living quarters to include playgrounds for the youth to socialize and exercise. This is seriously missing in various locations in the country as almost everywhere is used up for buildings without proper planning. Sam Shonibare Play Ground is a good place to come to for social activities and interaction. Events of various magnitude have also taken place here. Its an open ground fit for all occasions and very useful to Surulere.

Basic playground used by local youths for 5 a side football games, a few folks jog/run around the walk paths. It has a rundown open lawn tennis court and an events hall that can take about a 100 people. The football field is often used for weddings with marquees.
