Frustrating traffic these days especially at peak periods. The roundabout at the bridgefoot on the lekki axis is way too large and its circumference ought to be reduced to allow for easy manoeuvres. The link bridge is a great relief to people connecting ikoyi with the Lekki phase 1 a is of the island. The bridge is tolled and around 70% more expensive than the toll gate at the Lekki Epe express way. It is indeed a beautiful sight to behold. Especially at night.

The architecture is a fine work of art! It is suspended by strings of strong metal, fully constructed by Julius Berger Nigeria. The roads are well-maintained, no potholes. Fantastic architectural design. Bridge linking Lekki Phase 1 with Ikoyi. Fees are charged according to vehicle types. The bridge has some beautiful colors at night overlooking the Lagos Lagoon. The challenge here is usually the traffic during rush hours, vehicles spend a lot of time trying to pay to cross. This leads to long queues extending to 5km sometimes.

So far so good the toll gate has been a great landmark for those staying in the lekki and its environment but the wait time for car passing through could be managed much efficiently. The traffic congestion caused sometimes last for hours, in a country where pms and other petroleum products isn’t cheap. Also it’s must be noted that some of the attendance are very rude, while some on many occasions refuses to give drivers their receipt.

Lekki-Ikoyi Toll Gate is located on Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge. It is a relatively small toll gate with 2 or 3 toll points on each side of the road. It gives a great way to get into Lekki Phase 1 from Ikoyi, without having to go through the whole length of Victoria Island. A good alternative for those working at Ikoyi or coming from the mainland heading towards Lekki. However, the toll fee is slightly (N100) more expensive than that of the other toll gate by The Palms Shopping Mall. Hence, the toll fee for saloon cars is N300, while SUVs pay N400. Despite the higher toll fee, there is always traffic with a long stretch of cars, at this toll gate especially at peak periods i.e. early mornings or in the evenings. The traffic can sometimes stretch through the length of the whole Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge, to the dismay of the motorists driving through. Overall, it is a good access point into Lekki and it is situated on a pretty, well-lit Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge.

It generally has a bit of a hold up especially during early mornings and closing hours. It is however faster if you own an etag which ensures that you just drive through a specific lane or you can use an etag booth (the earlier is considerably faster). You might also go through with less hold up if you hold the exact toll fee as the exact toll fee booth is the next fastest.
