This place is the soul of Ikotun-Egbe. It is very crowded by passers-by , vehicles, and hawkers... One can easily get carried away by events going on around here or even get lost. You have to be very careful here too and hold on to your pockets to avoid being hurt by swift pickpockets.

Ikotun Roundabout is the bane of free flow traffic in that area. Activities of commercial bus drivers, Maruwa (tricycles) drivers and okada (motorcycles) riders always clog up this area -except at dawn or late at night. If you can, make use of alternative roads rather than this Roundabout. You could make use of Governor Road/Prince Adeyemi Street to link Igando road and then access Ijegun Road for your onward journey into inner Ikotun/Ijegun/Abaranje/Okerube. For those going to Egbe, it is better to take a detour at Council Bus stop into Liasu Road to come out at Ile-Iwe Bus stop, Egbe.

Despite the efforts of the Lasma to maintain free flow of vehicle movement, some traders are so desperate in selling their goods and in the process blocking the road. It is advisable to plan spending additional 30 minutes around Ikotun roundabout if one is planning to go towards that area on Saturday. The same thing can be said on weekdays when people are rushing to their places of work. For those who may want to visit Ikotun ultra modern market, it is advisable to plan it between 11 am and 2 pm. The road used to be relative free during that time.

Ikotun Roundabout is the bane of free flow traffic in that area. Activities of commercial bus drivers, Maruwa (tricycles) drivers and okada (motorcycles) riders always clog up this area -except at dawn or late at night. If you can, make use of alternative roads rather than this Roundabout. You could make use of Governor Road/Prince Adeyemi Street to link Igando road and then access Ijegun Road for your onward journey into inner Ikotun/Ijegun/Abaranje/Okerube. For those going to Egbe, it is better to take a detour at Council Bus stop into Liasu Road to come out at Ile-Iwe Bus stop, Egbe.

The roundabout lead to different parts of Lagos, due North East it leads to Igando-Ijegun Road, due South to Iyana Ipaja, and West to Isolo/Oshodi/Mushin road. The roundabout is always clumsy with Lagos yellow buses calling for passengers to various routes in the middle of the road causing steady and slow movement of traffic most of the time. The parks meant for these buses are not often in used, poorly organized and coordinated. The landmarks around include: the major market where food and many other products are sold, many people come here to trade contributing to commercial life of Ikotun as one of the major trading point in Lagos. Alimosho Local Government Secretariat, Banks, and Synagogue Church Headquarters. With these landmarks Ikotun is one of the busiest place #4 in Lagos possibly ranking after places like Eko Idumota, Oshodi, and Iyana Iba. Future consideration for development most create bus park away from the major road, and possibly a bypass road leading taking people going to Synagogue off the main road for other road users to be able to move more freely. The local government could generate more fund by creating a car park for those coming to Ikotun market with security and park charges.

As usual the traffic is always on the high side especially on Saturdays. Despite the efforts of the Lasma to maintain free flow of vehicle movement, some traders are so desperate in selling their goods and in the process blocking the road. It is advisable to plan spending additional 30 minutes around Ikotun roundabout if one is planning to go towards that area on Saturday. The same thing can be said on weekdays when people are rushing to their places of work. For those who may want to visit Ikotun ultra modern market, it is advisable to plan it between 11 am and 2 pm. The road used to be relative free during that time.

If there was a negative star I would have used it the traffic at ikotun roundabout is straight from hell, you can waste 2hours of your life here. It is so bad I would advice if you have an alternative route please take it. The surrounding is dirty, the market women use their wares to block the road, there is both shoving and pushing while walking not to talk of the motor cycle that will most certainly knock you down.
