Exquisite hotel, a blend of good taste and class of course at a price. Great customer service too. I love the serenity by the pool side. The gym is also a YES for me. Parking lot is not a problem, the security is great too. Safety is well considered too, you can see caution and danger signs, fire extinguishers and muster point. The entrance is wheelchair accessible too. I didn’t notice an accessible parking lot though.

Protea hotel Ikeja is conspicuously located in solemn GRA on busy Isaac John street. It exudes warmth and class right from drive in. The walk into the hotel is short from the car park and could easily be said to be same if you had to walk in from the gate. There are security checks to undergo but the employees at entrance are pleasantly helpful. The reception is beautifully decorated with both recessed and teardrop light brackets. The artworks are tastefully located however scarce so it is not overwhelming. Having attended several meetings here, the conference rooms come in sizes and adequately accessorised to support meetings. Finger foods served at tea breaks are well prepared. My best view coming out of the meeting rooms is the fountain and swimming pool in one. I recall the first time I saw it and made my mind that I must have something like this in my home one day. Just lovely to behold. The gym being at the far end of the pool gets a full view of the pool. The restaurant is quite cozy and the food truly delicious. Yet again you meet a helpful team ready to assist you with your requests. The array of food leaves you feeling full before you dig in. The bar/lounge though too close to the restaurant has its allure with soothing soft music in the background, the music filters into the restaurant serenading the room. I love the rug and floor wood combo in some locations. On the whole, I will recommend this hotel any day and time, it is truly a home away from home. Very unassuming yet so alluring.

Parking at this location is extremely tedious. Suffice it to say my first impression was affected by the fact that I spent 30 minutes waiting for a spot to open up. I eventually got in and ordered lunch in the main lobby area that also doubles as a dining space. The view overlooking the pool is very nice and I found it soothing. Lunch itself was okay, I had to send the drink back as there were some dirt particles floating in the glass. The waiter was very helpful and reaponsive though, and even spent time trying to swat the fly that kept disturbing my dining experience. The third star is specifically for him. All in all, the hotel can do so much better!
