Sandgrouse is an awesome place to buy foodstuff in Lagos Island, no wheelchair accessible parking, no parking period. Trek there, the exercise is good for you. Plus less stress without worrying about parking.

Second Popular Lagos Island market after Sura market along Simpson street usually patronized by Ikoyi residents. Under reconstruction but still fully operational.

Sandgrouse is one of the major markets in Lagos Island. It is a great place to shop for fresh food commodities and other items. Although prices here are a bit higher when compared with prices at Ita-Faji market, you can still get a good bargain. It is easily accessible because of its location along Simpson Road which leads to the famous Third Mainland Bridge. However, parking is a problem, as there is no parking space. It is not as messy as the other markets in Lagos Island when it rains.

Sandgrouse market is one of the major markets on Lagos Island alongside Balogun market. It is reknown for provisions and vegetables. The Lagos state govt has demolished the old market & moved the occupants out of their shops and stalls so, for now, they are hanging around the premises in makeshift shops. It is rumoured that the state govt intends to build an ultra modern shopping complex at the site of the old market which was demolished.

A very rough place with a heavy noise. The government of Lagos State is not helping the matters at all due to the abandoning and non completion of the main market after several years the reconstruction stated.
