The room was big and clean. The bed was big and fluffy, the staff in the public spaces are a real delight. However, the room service, housekeeping left a little to be desired. Even with that, we enjoyed our mini-vacation and will definitely be back again. The pool area was so much fun, a great way to stay cool in the scorching heat.

An expansive place, the staff can be more welcoming and affable. The infrastructure is in need of uplift. The other tall building could be brought down if there is money to maximize the potential of the location. Otherwise, an excellent cuisine and bar. If the walking pathway could be better signalled and repaired it gives good opportunity for an evening walk within the safety of the confines of the nice hotel

Praise Jam 2019 held at the Balmoral Hall of this hotel. It was a great place to have such crowd that participate annually in this Jam. The space was good for the different ages that came into the program. There were the food vendors and events managers making the best of the timing with the enabling environment that the hotel space offered. The facilities were generally good for a large crowd use.

Federal Palace Hotel has some event halls in it. During the "Detty December" period, lots of people could be seen trooping in and out due to the numerous shows held there. The compound is massive and well decorated.

BREAKFAST BUFFET I approached the breakfast buffet with no preconceptions. I was therefore pleasant surprised at the quality of the food. It was a good spread of food which for the most part tasted very nice. There were two disappointments to the food. The first was my omelette. It was terribly done. The chef burned the omelette, how do you burn eggs? The second were the pancakes which looked anaemic and thus very uninviting. Other than those the food was very good. The whole wheat bread served is possibly the best whole wheat bread i have ever eaten, please do not toast the bread to eat. Eat it plain. A word of advice for the hotel, they should have a bakery that sells the bread. The service of the servers was below average. Unfortunately they were not very attentive and responsive to customers. I had dirty cutlery on my table and had to draw their attention to it and even that was not changed replaced quickly. Then one of the servers came up to me that i could not make a video or take pictures of the food spread. I would have thought that people taking pictures would help promote a place in this very visual social media age that we live in. What better way to promote a hospitality organization than pictures. It is because of this poor service that I have given them 3 Stars when they should have gotten between 4 and 4.5 and this is a shame as the food was really good.

Came for the Sunday lunch buffet. From security to concierge and kitchen staff, they welcome you with a warm greeting and a smile. They are all very attentive to your needs and requests before you ask while giving you space to make your choice. The exterior is quite frightful but the interior is well taken care of. I particularly love the green area outside by the lagoon. The breeze gives a refreshing change from recycled air conditioning but the live band/singer also makes it fun to be inside. The kids loved the grounds because they could run and lie on the grass. Food is good, I particularly loved the ratatouille and seasoned vegetables, they were very well done as well as the lamb. I will definitely come again.

Had a lovely long family weekend here, clean well illustrated rooms with soft beddings, amazing breakfast buffet and delightful lobby. You could catch the ducks being fed while having breakfast at the outside porch or feed the peacock or perhaps see a ship sailing by. Nice expanse of green area. Staff were genuinely kind and helpful. And the pool area was a major hit, kids were ecstatic. Could serve fresher food at the pool area but still a well earned 5 star experience to me.

Stayed 4 nights. Best place for family with kids. What i loved most: Great location, large size premises with a feel of tranquility that disconnects you from the busy Lagos life. You could walk around the premises along the lagoon and walk over to their signature pool away from the hotel. The lobby is the largest i have seen with nice seating areas. Their food is AMAZING! Staffs are very helpful and friendly, i made friends. The hotel equally have great security. I have stayed in other 5 stars hotels in New York, Miami and Mexico. I will say this Hotel is in the same ranking, it is a luxury hotel. This will be my go to hotel whenever i visit Nigeria.

The WiFi never works, the power goes out in the hotel 3-4 times a day, and most importantly the A/C DOESNT WORK. Right now it’s 24.9 C / 75 F and it’s been like this for days. Oh, this is in my upgraded room because after a pipe burst on the above floor I had to beg them to change my room. I’ve stayed in multiple hotels in Lagos, stay at the Four Foints Sheraton or anywhere else but here.

My 2nd time at the Balmoral, this time for the #LFW2019. Security & crowd control, ambience & scenery are the first things you notice... the other little details supplement. The ACs in the Balmoral are on hyper blast though and I thought my heart would stop. LMAO. Awesome place for events for over 800 guests.

Amazing experience at one of the few serene hotels in Lagos. Absolutely enjoyed my stay as service was top notch. Their meals were also very good. I got to learn about the old Federal Palace hotel which I had no idea was sitting right behind the new one. I enjoyed taking a walk by the beautiful seaside while watching ships sail by and also having breakfast with the peacocks. An interesting experience. Simple pool but they have the largest water slide in Lagos which I didn’t get to try but definitely looking forward to.

I have always loved Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, but my last visit left me very unhappy and reconsidering staying there again. A lot of the staff remain fantastic but maintenance of rooms appeared very poor. There were lots of issues with the rooms and bathrooms indicating poor maintenance. My final night the central air conditioning broke down and caused me issues with my asthma. I still love Federal Palace Hotel and hope this review will trigger improvements so we can go back to enjoying their hospitality.

Federal Palace Hotel is one of the oldest and big hotels on Lagos. It first opened on 1960. It is presently a 5-star hotel with 150 rooms managed by Sun International. It seats in Victoria Island with a great view especially if overlooking the ocean and Apapa ports. Watching the ships berthing and leaving the docks for the high seas is incredible and awesome. The employees are curteous and helpful, providing alternatives where a desired product or service is not available. The decor is beautiful, different seating areas with different moods. The restaurant is well set up and quite lovely. This is highly recommended for a wonderful day out with the family or a romantic night out or even a getaway for the weekend or honeymoon.
