The space is located at Ajako bus off Shasha. Its a spacious environment designed to accommodate different social events and gathering such as carnival, children day out, wedding, among other. The environment is beautifully laid out with garden and vegetation, flowers and trees. It is a gated and safe environment and there is restrooms for public use at the venue.

This beautiful space can be used for recreational activities, events, receptions or for when you just need a place to cool off. For this neighborhood, this park provides a great outdoor experience to visitors and indwellers alike. Lovely sites too.

The park was okay, I was very glad to know that they’re finally building things like this in Nigeria. I grew up seeing parks on tv and nowhere around places like shasha, Egbeda and others. But unfortunately. It was too good to be true. It came to my knowledge that people were sent out and embarrassed by security guards because they wore shorts and the so called “manager” found it inappropriate. I happened to be a victim as well. Considering the fact that it was my first time coming there, I was shocked. The service and experience was terrible. I was told to wait at the gate and couldn’t even sit to wait to wait for my cab. There was no signboard or anything stating the rules of the park to at least enlighten the citizens instead of chasing them out in such manner. In all my years of exposure and travels, I have never heard of such absurdity. Since when did local parks have anything to do with how the citizens look like or dress? I was very disappointed to be honest, I don’t know where such an absurd rule came from. I was told that the problem came from the so called “manager of the park”(I have never even heard of such a thing). But as usual I’m not surprised. I doubt the people in charge even understand what a park means or is used for. If this kind of mentality still exists and is still being implemented while trying to copy the foreigners, then I believe growth is just not possible. Overall, if you’re looking for a place where you can sit and play basketball, but can’t wear whatever you feel like wearing based on the hot weather or whatever because you wouldn’t want to be embarrassed and chased out, and other absurd and backward rules that I do not even know of yet, then this so called “park” is the place for you.

This park was renamed from Shasha recreational park to Rafiu Jafojo park in 2018. The park is spacious and has very good access to the road. Good for hosting children and small gathering.

Neat place, children friendly, the Lagos state government has really tried in putting this place together especially for children and families at this outskirt who stay far from the Alausa recreational park. This place is serene, and secured. Very natural scenery and lots of play swings available for kids. Its a place I will like to visit again with my daughter, just to have a breath of fresh air.
