Ancliia Catholic Hospital Eye centre, located at No. 1, Odumosu close, off Iju road , in the Ifako, Agege Pen Cinema, area of Lagos state in Nigeria , West Africa. We are a catholic Hospital founded in response to the dire need of the common man in Nigeria for quality and affordable eye health care services which though available in lagos, are very expensive. The hospital is run/ managed by Sisters of the Congregation of the Handmaids of the holy Child Jesus (HHCJ), a Religious society of consecrated women in the Catholic Church. The Eye centre started at a temporary site, in one of the consulting rooms in the main Ancilla Catholic hospital in the Iju area of lagos State, in January of 2003, as an outreach centre of the ECWA Eye hospital in Kano, with an ophthalmic Nurse and a visiting consultant ophthalmologist, Dr. Kirupananthan, the then Medical Director of the ECWA Eye Hospital who visited the hospital 3 or 4 times a year to run clinic and perform sugeries.
