The Unilorin zoological garden, the only standard zoo in Kwara state, is a thrilling place to visit in Ilorin. Many tropical animals can be found in the zoo. Such animals include Gazelles, lions, eagles, foxes, giraffes, crocodiles and many more. A token entrance fee is paid. Families and friends can visit. A variety store is located within it, making the zoo a place for enjoying nature with picnic.

The University of Ilorin zoo popularly called Unilorin Zoo is a zoo that is owned and managed by the University of Ilorin management. There are quite a large varieties of animals and birds including lions, ostriches, hyenas, Zebra etc. It is very affordable and there are other side attractions in the zoo. However, the zoo could be better managed than it is right now as it is the major relaxation centre for students and staffs around the area.

Unilorin zoo, a visually engaging place, ideal for young animal lovers, pre school age children. Located just adjacent to the Unilorin entry gate. Boasts a popular canopy walk and a variety of animals including birds of different species, reptiles, a lioness, cheetah, hyena, chimpanzees, baboon, Emu, warthog, gazelle, flamingo, crocs, tortoise, among others. Also a play area for children and a restaurant with snacks & drinks. Entry fee as at review is 500 naira ($1.5, £1) with discounts for children and groups. There’s an on site tour guide at an extra cost.
