One of the twelve Federal Universities instituted by former president Goodluck Jonathan. It is located in Lokoja the Kogi state capital, two hours drive from Abuja. Being the only federal university in the state, it is positioned to provide quality and affordable tertiary educations to all Nigeria, mostly those from the region. Though it yet lacks a number of courses, the ones available are professionally handled and departments are well equipped.
