I was passing thru Kano from Yobe , going to Lagos . I had to go by road to Kano before taking a flight to Lagos because of the insecurity around Maiduguri road. We stayed in Grand Central Hotel. Despite been an old hotel, it is well managed and maintained. The hotel is neat and well structured. The positioning is also.goid because commuting from the hotel to the airport was very easy. We went to town easily by boarding keke directly infront of the hotel. It offers everything we needed and it was the best hotel place we lodged thru out the trip

Big and historical but has a whole lot to improve on. A lot of tress and flowers provide good shades and clean air. Cool and quite. The shower is more well lit than the rooms. The meals, and variety of meals, are just manageable, nothing spectacular. Wardrobes and cupboards could be repaired and more hangers provided. WiFi didn’t work despite trying it at different locations during my stay. Mosquitoes should be controlled - Dan to many around there.

My room was cleaner compared to my previous Visit in October 2018. However, the complementary breakfast is an apology. Cereal and bread with egg. No variety at all, no choice either. The toilets, both room and general, require plumbing fixes. Shower head in my room was bad and functioned as a tap not as a shower. The WC kept dripping water into the toilet seat but that is so much water waste. Internet was adequate in the reception but non-existent on the 3rd floor where I stayed. Complaints took forever to fix. However, you can get banks, stores, and food of different types nearby the hotel.

One of the biggest hotels (in terms of size) in Kano metropolis. The standard of service was just ok, not great. Service delivery can be better in terms of facility maintenance culture. Had to change my room upon discovery that my AC had problems. The next room I was moved to, on the 5th floor also had issues with leaking wash hand basin, making a mess of the bathroom floor. There was no wifi service which was quite disappointing. I score the service, average.

Hotel offers complimentary breakfast, free WiFi and swimming pool facility with a qualified trainer. Room are decent however the restroom is a little outdated. I will advice non-indigenous people to eat out as the food might not suit the taste bud. Overall, it’s worth the money.
