Just an okay place. Poor infrastructure in my view. The passenger lounge is very poor, public convenience is very untidy and ticketing point is very disorganized. Ticket racketeering thrives here. Most times tickets will be unavailable for people on the queue, but available in the black market at prices way above official price. Ensure you get to the station hours before the scheduled train time and queue up.

Good to have a working railway in Nigeria. I had been riding down to Abuja and actually it was quite pleasant. But to get on the train is quite a challenge. There had been queues longer than the train itself. A hangout schedule is not really available. All works little bit by word of mouth. Fares are quite a mystery . Why?

It a welcome development to have this railway station which can take people from Abuja to Kaduna and vice versa, especially as kidnapping cases has been ongoing on the road axis. It will be better if it also gets to other states of Nigeria. It would be fair enough to build the station in a very central place which will be very easy to be accessed by both strangers and residents of that particular state. That of Kaduna is an area that is easily affected whenever there is a crisis in that state. It would not be fine that one is running away from being kidnapped on the road and be caught up with a crisis which always come in announced. We hope that with this recent development, such things will stop. The train leaves four times daily except Wednesdays, where it leaves 6:40am & 6pm. Some say it is because of less travellers, others say it their maintenance day, whatsoever, the fact remains, their schedule on Wednesdays are just two. At Rigasa, there car and Keke drops to take you to where you are going to from there and at Kubwa Station in Abuja, you can take a bike to the expressway which is not far from the station.

It’s actually a great experience taking the train from Rigasa Station. It has a great parking space for drop-offs and short stay parking. New station and mostly neat though the station is a bit far out of town, so you have to do as fast as possible to get out of station once you arrive or drop off and get to town with other people going at that time instead going back alone for safety.

I ply Abuja-Kaduna twice a week and today is the first time I found things being done orderly at Rigasa train station. For about 8 weeks I have always gotten on the train standing for 2 hours 40 mins due to the area boys that boys tickets ahead of commuters and resell at a very high price. But upon getting there today, there was a new barricade installed at the ticketing point and also Nigeria Police K9 mounted the possible places the racketeers could come in through. I got my ticket on time and there was no rush. Keeping it like this will attract many more customers.

The last time I was here made it difficult to visit again. I was almost pushed to the ground before I was able to buy ticket to travel to Kaduna. Despite that I worked up so early and arrived the station at least 2 hours before departure, it became very difficult to secure a standing ticket were I managed myself by the cabin entrance for 2 hours + journey. Many the service as and system would be improve in the near future.

The climate around the chic looking Rigasa train station is ambient. Passengers always conduct themselves with a great deal of civility. The rain stations has a motorable road that lead passengers straight to its terminal. The security presence around the train station is equally very impressive. Rigasa train station has a motor parking lot, a mosque and a mini market for people who intend to buy souvenirs and buy food.

I’ve had terrible experiences at this station. The ticketing staff are crooked, sometimes incompetent with a lot of ticket racketeering occurring. Worse is the authority in charge is either complicit or incompetent to address these issues. e-ticketing with online booking with address most of these issues. Trains arrive and depart on schedule. If you have a disability, you need to ask to be shown the accessible entrance. Staff are friendly and willing to assist. There are few "Special Needs" tickets for persons with disabilities, you may need to ask, but the staff offers this if you are disabled and its available. The last of the 4 train rides from Rigasa to Kubwa terminal was at 6pm. Ride is 2 hours long and cost 1500 for economy and 3000 for VIP. Seats are comfortable, enough leg room and selected points for charging. There are policemen on board (although positioned closest to the VIP section) Snacks are available for sale.

Its far from the zaria kaduna highway. There are some eateries but no standard restaurants nearby. The facility is clean. Gets congested during the weekends due to over crowding. From here you can board to Abuja by train and coaches are maintained by the chinese. The station doesnt have a standard waiting room and the nearby area can get muddy in rainy season.

The link road from bakin ruwa is bad. It took me over 28 minutes to get to the station from the by pass and I missed my train by just 45 seconds.

I dont understand why people have to queue and beg to buy tickets to get on train. Staff are rude and have little or no manners. Despite being a good thing that standard guage rail is now operational in Nigeria, the Rigasa station is in no way adequate for the city of Kaduna. It should be mini station like that in Jere and Asham. It probably too late for rebuilding but at least its there. Be prepared to board the train in the sun or rain

Located at the last terminus of Rigasa, which is west of Nnamdi Azikiwe express by pass, has a mini market where you can buy snacks and other stuff, along with local restaurants, there are bikes and taxis to take you home after onboarding, there is a well air-conditioned reception to wait, a mosque for Friday prayer just opened last 4 weeks.

Simple et rapide. La gare de Rigasa est bien organisé. C’est la première gare de train que j’ai visitée. La sécurité est assurée. Ticket disponible à des prix abordables( 1300 Naira et 2500 Naira pour les coaches classes affaires) on peut acheter les tickets surplace. Il y a des prises dans les wagons au cas où vous voulez charger vos appareils au cours du trajet. Il y a un restaurant pour acheter à manger durant le voyage. J’ai pris plus d’une fois le train à destination d’Idu et il n’y a jamais eu de panne ni d’arrêt brusque. Simple et rapide. Les trains sont à l’heure. A l’arrivée les chauffeurs de taxi sont organisés pour éviter les bousculades.
