The Yakubu Gowon Airport in Jos is one of the national airports across the country. It operates mainly the Lagos route but recently has began connecting Kaduna before getting to Lagos. As at the end of 2018, only Arik airline flies this route with a once daily schedule. It is being hoped and expected that other airlines such as AZMAN, Aero, Medview airlines and Airpeace will soon be operational here. The airport is about 30 minutes from the city centre of Jos and I always recommend that anyone who intends to use the airport should leave at least two hours to their scheduled take off flight time. This eases unnecessary tension and fear of missing tour flight. The airport can be cold, as the city of Jos, so warm clothing is recommended - especially for those who are new in the tin city of Jos. There are shops with snacks and drinks within the airport in case you need something to eat or drink. Have a safe flight from Jos.

This is the only airport in Plateau state, north central Nigeria, it was recently renamed to Yakubu Gowon Airport. In recent times it has undergone series of renovations with the construction of banner car park for travellers. Although it is not a major commercial airport but it handles an average of 5-15 flights per day.

My experience there was cool. It is a domestic airport with one operating airline (airk). The airport is located at Heipang. Heipang is much colder than the metropolis.

Yakubu Gowon airport Jos is the only airport in the state that serves travellers in and out of Jos. The airport is pretty under renovation as there is a lot of improvement that needs to be done. Collection of baggage here was without any stress as the staff here eagerly awaits the arrival of plane and they are ready to work.
