From its lovely architecture, one can tell that the Nicon Luxury Hotel was intended to be much better and more utilized than it currently is. Maintenance of facilities should be taken more seriously and a total re-branding of the hotel needs to be carried out. It is in a strategic location, being close to places like the Central Bank, and so should be better taken care of. Rooms should be upgraded to suit current standards.

Must have been one of the top 3 hotels in Abuja at some point in time. It still retain that look but much has to be done to get 4 or 5 star rating. Strongly built on a spacious plot, and with the environment green and lush. Situated just beside the International conference center made it more iconic and should have been the preferred lodging for all international high profile events in town. Nicon luxury looks a bit unlike it old self now, lacking thorough mentanance and professional management and touch. It look rather deserted from the gate. The food is OK but nothing special. The room is OK too but already looking old and warn.

In the number of rooms, it is second only to Transcorp Hilton. Although only about 256 rooms are in service out 580. Its F & B offerings are still decent and comparable to its peer. More work needs to be done to upgrade the rooms and amenities. Nicon Luxury is very strong in MICE segment as it consistently play host to high profile events and meetings.

The rooms were not luxurious and I had to change my room twice because of plumbing issues yet the room i was placed was not better than the previous. The restaurant doors were dirty and the drapes need washing. The only good thing about the rooms were the clean soft towels which was 1 per room and the shampoo.Generally i had no value for money spent. And im not looking forward to a next visit to the hotel.

This can be rated as classic four star hotel. We were there for a buffet dinner with two other friends, even though we came a bit late, their Nigerian food selection was great. All kinds of pepper soup, a variety of rice and pasta dishes, Amala, semo, pounded yam and assorted soups. They also had a nice combo of desserts. Even though the sitting space seemed too small or insufficient, I probably assume it was the huge buffet turnout that made for scarce seats and vacant clean tables. The hotel itself has lovely views, it is situated in a serene part of Garki Abuja, close to the central business district, it has wheelchair accessible parking and entrances, there is also a pool.
