The Eagle Square is a public centre close to the Federal Secretariat, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Interior. The centre was suppose to be a public centre where tourists and citizens can access on a daily basis, take photographs and relax and have fun. Though, it is always locked so masses cannot access the place until there is an approved event like Political Party Programs and Religious Programs. Those are the two groups destroying this Country Nigeria. I will recommend that the management be more accountable to open up the centre rest rooms for tourists and general public to access on a daily basis. Also any gathering less than 10 should be allowed in and out without restrictions except when there is a booking for a special event. The center also needed to be renovated and maintained.

Eagle Square my visit to place during a recent Technology Summit opened my eyes to see the beauty of this square. It is beautifully located between the Federal Secetariat, National Assembly,Aso Rock villa and the Ministry of External Affairs. It has hosted many Christians Religious Activities Ceremonial Parades even Political Party Conventions just mention a few. A very secured place and a very secured car park. It also very easy to secure transport for those going to Nyanya and Maraba. The National Arcade is also located opposite the Eagle Square. This are some of the things that makes it an attractive place to visit whenever one finds reason to visit Abuja or the Central District of Abuja.

The Eagle Square, Abuja was constructed in 1999 to serve as the platform for the official take-off of the Fourth Republic of the Federation of Nigeria. It has since then provided the primary arena for the symbolic transfer of power and inauguration of the new Government, notably the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Executive President of the Federal Republic. The Eagle Square is used for hosting the National Day parade and the Presidential Swearing-in ceremony, as well as, in staging a number of political rallies/programmes, religious crusades/rallies, musical concerts/shows, launchings and award ceremonies. The Eagle Square is conveniently set within the precincts of the major landmarks of the FCT; it is flancked on both sides by the Federal Secretariat, while it faces the national Cenotaph, the National Assembly, and the Supreme Court. It has fabulous view of the Aso Rock Hills that serve as a back drop to the Presidential Villa while to its rear is a car parking lot capable of holding at least 500 vehicles.
