The Cross River National Park is a national park of Nigeria, located in Cross River State, Nigeria. There are two separate sections, Okwangwo and Oban. The Cross River National Park is one of the biggest and most popular in nigeria Mostly occupied by lush closed canopy rainforest, Cross River is one of the oldest rainforest habitats in the world. The Cross River Gorilla is the symbol of this park, which makes it a great place to learn why animals are endangered and the importance of protecting their environment. Largely untouched in its most inaccessible areas, Cross River is a biodiversity hotspot and a sanctuary to many hunted animals. There are 16 species of primates recorded in this park; so it’s a great place to spot some of our closest relatives. For visitors the Kanyand tourist village provides a welcome respite from which to view the park and a comfortable basecamp. Gorilla tracking is a must here and a great opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures and support the people that are trying to protect them. There are some of the best safari tours in Africa on offer here including mountaineering, hiking trails, a 7-mile four-wheel-drive track and a stunning botanical garden.

Cross river state is a place where you can do good business and the people in that place are hard working people, they do not depend on the government for them to sever an the government do not care much about the people, I am a serving Corp member in cross River State in boki local government Bashau town, in that town no lights, no construction company, no bank the people in the local Government only depend on cocoa for they to make money and If you want to use the bank you will have to travel from boki local government to ikom local government where there is bank and from Bashau to ikom is 600 Naire and again serving Corp member in cross River State is not been by the delta government, I mean the state is not paiding us the 5000 thousand Nair he said he is paying. This is the little I can say for now

The Cross River National Park is a national park of Nigeria, located in Cross River State. There are two separate sections, Okwangwo and Oban. The park covers a very large land mass, most of which consists of primary moist tropical rainforests in the North and Central parts, with mangrove swamps in the coastal zones. The park has closed canopy and scattered emergent trees reaching 40 or 50 meters in height. This park has one of the oldest rainforests in Africa, there are a-lot of primates here including chimpanzees, drills and gorillas. Both divisions of the park are threatened by illegal logging, slash and burn farming and poaching. The guide was very efficient in ushering me around.
