The rooms are specious and clean. The employees here are sometimes clueless especially the kitchen staff. They will frustrate you. The food here is not so good, the buffet menu was similar and uninspiring for 5 days straight. The upside of the hotel is the functional gym and swimming pool. There is a club at the premises of the hotel for you to unwind. Channel View is just expensive for the service it renders.

Great hotel for a weekend getaway. Their rooms are neat with functional amenities. There is a TV, AC, working refrigerator, electric kettle and a dining set for 2. The room is cleaned daily, sheets and towels are changed daily too and the environment is quite accessible to everywhere. You may want to "specifically" request for your food especially when you eat spicy food, they dont serve spicy unless you ask for it.

Very good and attentive staff but the infrastructure is being left to deteriorate. Evidently the owner does not pay attention to maintenance and cleanliness in a very touristic town. Rooms uncomfortable except for the AC, no standby power, very poor wifi connection, which has become an essential facility for all travellers nowadays. Really, the only asset the hotel has is the human capital.

I mostly use the gym here. Last time I was in the rooms should be about three years ago but I wasn’t impressed with the maintenance culture which is a general problem with all Nigerian hotels. The tap in the females wash room of the pool is falling off and besides those few problems, the facility has managed to stay relevant. It is a fairly good hotel to stay in calabar. It’s centrally located in a safe area and you can easily get transportation around from here. Otherwise the management needs to look into the little details. Also, the use of laptops around the gym waiting area or pool waiting area is banned /not allowed. There’s an atm on site and a bakery shop with very interesting looking pastries. Update - extensive reconstruction work and maintainance is ongoing at this hotel and facilities are being upgraded. Excellent Excellent

Was actually in the Mayfair lounge(locayed inside the hotel)and not the hotel itself. Was not overly pleased with the place. First is the small size then the air conditioning is not too good. Then the toilet was a complete off. The management would do well to improve on these issues. On the other hand, the music was good and drinks were cold. Parking space is average

This is easily accessible from the main road. It has good parking space. The reception hall is quite neat, elegant and welcoming as well as the front desk staff. Be aware that the lift is not functioning; you will have to use the stairs (you are lucky if boarding on the First floor). The food from the restaurant is a bit overpriced. The toilet facilities are not really superb while the WiFi/Internet facility was going from bad to worse. It’s not totally a bad place. Enjoy your stay!!!

My stay was August 2016. I had a nice time at Channel View. It was better than I expected. Although the dining was very tasty, on more than one occasion I did not receive the meal that I ordered. I did not want to complain so eventually I went elsewhere to eat. The cleaning staff was very nice. The front desk staff was not very friendly but overall my experience was nice. The Mayfair Lounge is a nice place to hang out and have a few drinks while listening to music or doing karaoke. I was very grateful for my time there. It would be a 5 star hotel if they can get rid of the ants in the rooms and do some furniture upgrades.

The best things about this place are the food, the friendliness of the staff and the sense of security. The elevator worked for half a day of the 3 that I stayed there ( good news if you are trying to increase your step count- I did 4 flights of stairs many times a day). The laundry could be better- "clean" towels and sheets had stains on them despite a fresh smell, the air conditioner was unreliable despite a maintenance visit. Overall, good intentions by management but no ? will ( or maybe funds) to make it better?

Nice ambiance. My immediate misgiving is that the phone/intercom is not by The bedside. One will have to get up from the Bed each time u wish to use the phone... This is not very convenient; particularly if you are asleep and The phone rings.. U will have to stand up and walk to the phone. Those with short sleep will lose their sleep by The time they return to bed

Fantastic reception. Lovely clean living environment. Didn’t like the TV in the room, and the DStv wasn’t clear, but I’m not a tv person. Food was great. Always on time (or no more than 10 minutes late). I was too tired to checkout the pool and gym, but they have those.... and a conference area.

I stayed in this hotel for a night and it was an unpleasant experience. First the room I was assigned was still dirty and unkempt as at 7.35pm when I arrived. It took another 19 minutes for them to get me another clean room. Then I settled down. The bathroom handle was bad and would lock you in if you shut it. Water in the bathroom was not flowing fine. I made an order for food which took an hour to arrive after several calls. When it was time to rest, it was impossible because the band and club was playing all through. Beddings were not clean. The hotel needs maintenance.
