Yam market here would have been a bustling business area but for disagreements between local government and other stake holders in the commodity. Enough yams to fill several large trucks can be found in the commodity market on Thursdays, and indeed other days once the indigenes a get the patronage. But the local government rightly felt that the space is too small to accommodate yams and the large trucks along with safety of other market items. So, they moved yam out of town to a safe place along Z/Biam road. The local sellers refused to move. Government tried to enforce movement. And...
