I expected more from this place. The environment is not well spaced. Good customer service but poor infrastructure. More work needs to be done to ensure passenger safety and comfort in the Sam Mbakwe Airport.

It is an old but efficient airport mostly used by easterners. Located in Imo state. They had a quick response service there too. I honestly think a renovation if the place would give it a nice facelift. Apart from that, it is just ok.

My brother in-law was asked to pay a fine of N5000 because when he parked at the allocated parking space his tire was touching the white painted line. Please where is that done? No notice was kept that you do not park on the painted white lines etc.

Conveyor belts worked and check in was a breeze. Rest room was clean with running water. No air conditioning in the departure hall. No bus for passenger transfer but walking distance to plane is minimal as planes park close to terminal. Runway is smooth and no cows were observed on the runway.

Nice facilities, nice staff, flights are often on time, nice security staff. The arrival hall has no space for waiting, only few chairs, so your guests need to wait outside. The toilets are clean and always maintained. Food sold in the premises are nice and affordable. There are couple of outdoor restaurants outside the building. The access road to the airport is currently under maintenance, so you may want to arrive early enough for your trip.

IMO state airport in Nigeria has very large and conducive facility for air craft landing. Perfect runway ,trolley services with car hire, etc . you can easily access the major towns like owerri, aba and even umuahia.

This airport is located at Ngor Okpala, Imo state. 15 minutes away from Mbaise and about 20 minutes from Owerri the capital. The airport could be better as regards ambience but it certainly serves the purpose. Taxify services available and an average of N6,000.00 for normal airport taxi to Owerri (which is high).

Airport taxis are readily available and access to the city is easy because it is located at a part of Owerri were development id fast closing up on it. Sam Mbakwe airport serves Imo state and its environs. It is small and poorly lit. Staff are friendly. The usually clean airport was extremely smelly on this date of this review. The baggage claim area could do with brighter light. There are airport taxis available to go on short and long distance travel. The departure Longe has some restaurants serving food and drinks at an affordable costs. There is an executive lounge on the upper level. No WiFi available at this airporrt but there are charging ports around the lounge.

There was no light in the airport the last time I travelled and passengers were sweating profusely and very uncomfortable in the heat. I was too!!!!! The airport is not getting a zero, because they were still able to print boarding passes etc using inverters. No airport in Nigeria should still be without light in 2018. No excuses!

This Owerri Airport is so dilapidated that I hardly knew I was in an Airport. I was highly embarrassed when there was power outage for over 30 minutes and I could not reshedule my flight until power came back on. The rest room is a complete dumpsite, an eyesore. The shops around the airport offers food and drinks while waiting to pick up someone or waiting to board a flight. This Airport needs a complete overhaul
